The Learning Together Cheshire and Warrington (LTCW) Conference 2009 was a success with 35 delegates from a wide range of organisations taking part to look at how the recession is beginnig to affect the sub region.
Delegates came from a range of member organisations providing a good mix for networking.
About the conference.
The potential impact of the current economic crisis on the third sector is considerable. Demand for its services is increasing and predicted to grow. What exactly these effects will be or what impact they will have on the third sector are not fully understood.
It is important to develop a better understanding of the potential impact of the recession on the third sector in general, but more specifically on the capability of organisations to meet those demands. This event focused on how to survive the recession, providing solutions to current and emerging problems.
Aims of the Conference:
-
To ensure the effects and impact of the recession are understood
-
To ensure management, performance and financial controls are robust
-
To ensure staff are skilled, motivated and focused on performance delivery To ensure the sector is able to develop Local Recession Action Plans
The day included presentations and small workshop discussions focussing on the effects that the economic down turn was having on the Cheshire and Warrington Sub Region and the Third Sector.
